REVERSED PHASE HPLC DETERMINATION OF TOTAL HOMOCYSTEINE, CYSTEINE, CYSTEINYL GLYCINE, GLUTATHIONE IN PLASMA OF EPILEPTIC PATIENTS

The fast and accurate reversed-phase HPLC method was predicated on qualitative quantitative estimation of the total concentrations essential thiols in plasma adults volunteers compared with epileptic patients, which is l-cysteine (Cys) homocysteine (tHys), cysteinyl glycine (Cys-Gly), glutathione (GSH) cysteamine (Cstm), respectively. samples (50) patients were classified into three groups; non-anti-epileptic drug consisted 20 (12 male, eight female) who mainly diagnosed idiopathic generalized epilepsy. mean age 34 ± 13 (range 19–48) years. second group 30 receiving two types anti-epileptic drugs, 18 male six Carbamazepine, 12 (7 males five phenytoin. 32 11 Compared 31 healthy (20 female). controls 9 26–49 years). duration treatment months).
